Bisotoun power plant has been installed  for providing the electric Trans network requirement  in the west of country ( Kermanshah,Kordestan,and Ilam ).This plant is located between Kermanshah(20  Km  distant ) and  Bisotoun(8Km distant) and it contains two steamy units whose  capacity is 320 megawatt,main  fuel  of  unit’s  boiler  is  natural  gas  and  heavy  fuel  oil  used as a second  fuel.  Boiler  and  unit’s  turbine are  made  in  Italian  Franco – Tosi  Company and unit’s generators are  made  in  Italy  Ansaldo  Company Westinghouse design.

Needed water is pumped by  3  fehlman  wells  which  are  located  at   6  kilometers  of  power  plant  &  in adjacent to  Gamasiab  River , the  capacity of these wells is generally  2000 cubic  meter  per hour and is transferred to power plant by the pipe. Each of units in perfect charge has the average  amount of consumed fuel which is equal to 84KNM3/H  of gas and 75 TON/H of  Must  and the degree of consumption  of  water, in every  perfect  charge,is 500 M3/H which this  amount  is different according  to   the temperature in different seasons.

Operation of  the  erection and start up the  plant was started by Italian contractor and  with  cooperation  of the  internal  contractors  since   Farvardin  1370  and finally in  the  first  time, first  and  second  units were paralleled  in  Transmission  network  in  turn  on 17th Khordad and 5th Aban 1370.
